Our 15 minutes of fame

For those of you who have been reading the comment in the recent posts will notice a New Straits Times reporter asking that I contact him. Lo and behold, he's planning to feature Silat Melayu: The Blog in a column on bloggers somewhere mid-April.

Now, the fact that today is April 1st did dawn on me, but to be fair, he did send the comment before today, so I'll discount that it's someone trying to play a joke on me.

If this happens, then, I regard it as a good opportunity to show Malaysia and the world that Silat Melayu is much more than what they know. It's a small contribution, but at least we can say we had some.

Waa'alaikumussalam Hormat dan Tabik

I know how you feel my friend..but don't be too humble.

Learn to give credit to yourself as well my friend. It's not easy to do such work that you have done here..against all odds.

This very informative portal is a state-of-the-art technology of communicating information regarding martial arts.

Even if nobody or the media itself changes their mind (just assuming); on the positive side, you still have what I call as 'alternative media' which; If I were to be you; I would be so proud having the power of knowledge to assist various people example researchers, silat practitioners at all levels etc.

My friend, despite I do know that you were joking about the 'sarcasm tracing', but I assure you; in goodwill; it is not...it's a fact. Who else would be the 'next generation' if not us...WE are the next generation. You, I and everyone else IS the current 'next generation' that have been spoken by our predecessors in the past. (THAT..I'm sure)

Keep up the good work my friend. Never give up, never give up, never give up.

Salam persilatan dan persaudaraan

Asalaamualeikum,

This is nothing. Wait and see how famous you become when I publish your lessons.

And you know...I think we can make some money with that!

Waalaikumsalam,

For those others who read Jeff's comment, don't get him wrong. His money statement is an inside joke. In reality, Jeff doesn't really care about money.

That's why he keeps sending his to me.

Wassalam,
