Lian Padukan Outtakes from Human Weapon - Silat

Here are some outtakes from the Lian Padukan shoot of Human Weapon: Silat, The Martial Art of Malaysia. The producers didn't allow any footage to be published before the episode aired. There were some pretty embarassing moments that never made it to the final cut, including the real reason Jason and Bill wore chest protectors.

They also have photos of the shoot. Look out for the one where the crew try to break 'buah keras' with their bare hands. Click on the link below to view their gallery.

Salam hormat,

Correct. The condition was that no one was allowed to film their actors, so Lian Padukan only filmed those scenes that didn';t include Jason and Bill.

I am interested in learning silat. I have little experience in cimande & gayung during my childhood. Very basic one.

I am now 30 yrs old and would like to join silat as sport and physical activity. My body is out of shape now and thinking why not silat to rebuild strength & fitness? 2 in 1 = self defense & sport.

1. Would you recommend Lian Padukan as a kind silat for me to join?

2. Why Human Weapon choose Lian Padukan for their documentary? Not Gayung, sendeng, cekak etc?

I am really appreciate if you could help me with answer to my question.

Thanks.

Salam hormat,

If you're looking for Lian Padukan in Shah Alam, Selangor, then yes, it is a good option for fitness AND self-defence.

The reason for this is that the Chief Instructor for Selangor is guru Yazid Abdul Rani, an accredited fitness instructor who is also a co-founder of the National Fitness Council (NFC). Every instructor he produces is automatically experienced in exercise and fitness methods.

You may contact him through http://liandpadukan.com

Actually lian padukan is not one of malay silat, it is altered version of buah pukul mersing(lian paduka) which originally from China. That is why its style/way is completely different from any silat.
